Loving God, Loving People, Doing Life Together
Keane and Milena Collins

Keane was born in Santa Barbara, CA. When he was ten his family moved to DeLancey, NY, a town of 150 people and many more cows, located in the Catskill Mountains (culture shock!). Keane completed high school in the Catskills, and has since earned a BA in Aquatic Biology from U.C.S.B. and an MBA from U.C. Berkeley. He is completing a course in Biblical studies at Western Seminary this year. Keane has lived in France and Italy, has traveled the length of Chile with Milena, and has been on business trips to Mexico, Peru, Germany, India and China. He worked 3 years as a legal assistant and 17 years as a manager in food companies.
Milena was born in a mining town (now a ghost town) in the Atacama Desert of Northern Chile. Her family moved to the coastal city of Viña del Mar, Chile, when she was 4, and made a big move to Hoboken, New Jersey when she was 10 (culture shock again!).  Milena attended a secretarial school in NYC, which began a 5 year career for her as a legal secretary in NYC and SF. While earning her AA in Business Administration at Santa Barbara City College, Milena also worked for two years as a bank teller. Since then, she worked two years with HP/Agilent, she worked eight years as a mom, and is now a teacher’s assistant at Santa Rosa Christian School. Another important date in Milena’s life was April 18, 1989, when she was sworn in as a U.S. citizen.

Milena and Keane met in NYC at the Christmas party of the large law firm where they both worked. They were married at Lake George, NY, in 1988. God has blessed them with a son, Aidan, now 9 years old, and a daughter, Ailis, now 7 years old. When Keane was a boy, his mother introduced him to Jesus. But, Jesus remained only a figure in history to Keane until he was 36, when he asked Jesus to be his Lord and to bring healing. After some time, Keane came to realize he was born again (wow!).

Milena was raised in the Catholic church. As an adult, she too came to ask Jesus to be her lord after being deeply struck by an Easter cantata performed at Sebastopol Christian Church. Soon thereafter, Keane and Milena were both baptized.

Keane and Milena were blessed to be part of the launch team of New Day. Keane is currently our Pastor of Involvement at New Day, focusing on Children’s and Family Ministries.
